Walmart beauty box fall 2015

Walmart beauty box is $5, and is delivered 4 times a year. It features drugstore beauty and lifestyle sample size items.
What was in it?
• the first thing I noticed was Revlon Ultra HD lipstick,  which is a repeat item in the same color. Which annoyed me but hey, I might as well save it for Christmas for someone.
•Sublime bronze travel size by L'Oréal.  I'm actually excited to try this after my Jergens self tanning moisturizer worked so well. I hope this lives up to that. But overall excited
•Dove advance care deodorant.  I personally have a hit or miss with dove deodorants. But glad to have a travel size you never know when you'll need it.
•Aussie mega hairspray travel size. Honestly I receive so many mini hair sprays in my life that I don't think I could ever get through them. But that's honestly bc I use them once every 6 months. Still OK with it.
•Act mouth wash travel size. I am  interested to see how it works
•Schick hydro silk razor. I can always use a razor and we'll enough it's a 5 blade razor. So happy to see how it works
• Single use Bioré self heating mask. This it's cool it's taken from the Japanese steam mask idea. Where a mask will heat up without the use of outside forces to help extract impurities. So I'll do a blog on that
•Nivea extended moisture lotion in a foil packet. Which I will use, because Nivea is a good brand.
•Crest white Polish professional 2 step whitening. I am more than excited to try this. I don't have very yellow teeth but I am a constant tea drinker. So it night help brighten my smile. And this is a foil packet with both formulas.
• last items was 2 foil packets for the new Jergens wet skin  moisturizer in coconut and monoi.

The good thing it they also provide you with coupons you can use. So overall I'm well satisfied.

Mizon Al in One Snail Repair Cream Review

Mizon all in one snail repair cream
Cost can range $8-30 USD
They have from 1fl to 4fl bottles

Mizon is a well-known company. Not as popular as Tony Moly or Etude house, but they really made themselves popular on the Snail trend. In fact the most recommended cream is the Mizon All in One Repair Cream. It has slowly began to populate American retail stores. For example you can now purchase them locally from Urban Outfitters.  What makes mizon different from all the other snail creams (which there are many), is all of the benefits.

But before we get into that, let’s look at what they claim.

1.       92% snail secretion filtrate, (that is the slime snails leave behind but it’s filtered from anything that could be bad for the skin). This aims to recover sun damage skin.

2.       Wrinkle care and prevention, by using Adenosine found in many anti-aging products including Neutrogena night sleeping mask.

3.       Helps fade red and dark spots. This aims to even out skin tone.

4.       Tighten pores. By preventing and abundance of sedum (which is oils). Using Green tea extract.

5.       Provide nutrients and hydration. This contain hyaluronic acid to retain moisture and other products.

6.       Protect skin from other stimulus. Using Hydrated vegetable oil by soothing sensitive skin

7.       Making skin more elastic. They aim to bring back a bounce to the skin and improving skin softness.

To recap it’s supposed to be this all in one miracle for all skin types from oily to dry and sensitive. That will even out skin tone, hydrate and return skin to a healthier state.

My experience

I really enjoy using this cream. It’s not thick or oily it’s a real gel consistency that absorbs into the skin quickly. That said I also felt like it did reduce oil production so before I applied this I used a light facial oil to retain moisture. It does help calm down irritated spots, I would know, I’ve had a couple of those. Its an overall great cream but not a miracle product for the best results use every day twice a day after washing, toning and applying your serum. If you feel like this is not enough moisture use another moisturizer on top. I do recommend this.

Scent Bird

Scent bird is a monthly subscription that provides you with rollerball perfume, mainly higher end perfumes for $14.95 a month. It comes in a little black bag much like ipsy except black lol. The roller ball is supposed to last for 30 days use. It comes in a special packaging and that you are supposed to reuse or every month. They call it a purse spray and you just twist the little bottle and it pops up and vice versa. To replace it all you have to do is twist the packaging and then pull up the old vial to remove and drop in a new scent push it in and twist.
What I really like about this, is that you can choose which perfume you'd like to try and you can reorder that same perfume as many times as you would like. And the more you rate the better recommendations you get. I specifically like woodsy scents with vanilla. That is, of course my own personal preference so I tend to look for those more.
This month I received Alien by Thierry Mugler. It's an everyday perfume, casual  and mysterious, at least to me. It makes me feel more sophisticated.
This is also a great way to build up a mini perfume collection. Plus most perfume roller balls go for $20 or up. So its a nice way to save some money.

There are over 300 hundred perfumes to choose from but not every single perfume.

ELF Contour Kit

There are a lot of contour kits on the market but non as inexpensive and well planned as this.

I assume everyone who reads this is well aware that ELF has multiple kits, including foundation, blush and bronzers in different shades. All containing 4 squares of product that can easily be depoted. It also contains a nice sized mirror

Contour Kit

This includes 2 highlight shades one in a shimmering white and another in a light beige. These highlight shades can be iffy if you have a light complexion or a very rich complexion. But 1 is bound to work for you.

The contour is a dark grayish brown shade, suitable for dark tans to light beige skin tones. Not for someone with a very rich or super pale skin tone.

Now the bronzer is beautiful it’s a warm bronzer not much shimmer but it does have nice sheen.

This is a powdery product a lot like the Anastasia were it has a bit of a kick back to it.  But it is long lasting (for normal to dry skin) and extremely affordable.

On the negative side the cubes that hold the product can be very easily removed if you press enough on the back. Just make sure not to hold it upside-down.

Do I recommend this?

I do, it is a great palate to have. It has all your basics and nothing extra to confuse you. Also it can become a perfect everyday palate if you chose. All the face palates are the same size. So if you chose you can remove a highlight for a foundation, or remove the bronzer and place your favorite bronzer shade, you can even remove the other highlight for a blush. Another option is to replace the contour shade with a dark foundation shade that is better suited for your skin tone.

How to get dark blue hair

Warning I'm in no way a professional at this, I can only give you my experience and my directions in no way am I telling you to do this this is just what I did. Also Manic Panic can be quite staining especially if you have beige or white anywhere in your bathroom. I suggest for to proceed with caution. And if anything dusting like your sink use bleach and leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes and the stain should come right off. Also I suggest rinsing out the hair dye on the toilet just so you don't stain a complete bathtub. You have been warned.

How I dyed my hair blue
What inspired me to do so?
I love messing with my har and I hadn't messed with my hair for 4 months. By using oils my hair reverted into a healthy state.

Now I have been in Sally's Beauty Supplies and I thought to myself hey why not dye my hair blue. So I went on to buy  the necessary  materials.
What you need ;
Aluminum foil from the dollar store
Plastic gloves  also from dollar store
Plastic hair bowl with brush dollar store
Plastic  shower cap dollar store
A shirt  you don't care about
L'Oreal's blue bleach
30 cream developer
Manic panic in blue whichever you choose
Deep conditioner

Step 1
The first thing I did was apply an oil treatment 24 hours beforehand. I did not wash it out I left it on for the whole day.
Step 2
it comes to bleaching first thing you want to do is put on the old shirt, then the gloves, and take out your plastic tools. The reason why the plastic is that the metal would react to the chemicals. Also take out your aluminum foil and cut those into thick strips.
step 2
Now you going to want to mix your developer and you're bleach to make a pancake like consistency. Mainly and nice thick consistency not too runny. Then apply that to the areas you want to lighten, use the pointy side of the brush to make sections, and quickly cover it with aluminum foil strip. Do this all over your head.
Step 3
Wait around 30 minutes before checking if it is lightened enough for you. You can use this up to 60 minutes but no more. Rinse out the bleach with nothing more than pure cool water, once that is done and all the bleach is removed you can go in with your deep conditioner. Leave it on for 5 minutes and then wash off. If you have not achieved your hair color you can try again within 3-4 days. But  a light brown or coppery blonde will do for a darker blue.
Step 4
Put on plastic gloves and use your hands to take out the dye from the manic panic container. If you don't what to deluded it, but if you do you can mix it in with a conditioner that is white. And apply the straight to the bleached areas. Put on a plastic cap and leave on for 1 hour or more if possible.
Step 5
Remove the color with cool water, on the toilet using buckets of water. After at least 5 rinses the water should come out clear. No let your hair air dry.
That is exactly how I did it. I don't know much about hair but I do know a lot about my own hair if you do have extremely fragile hair you might want to reduce the amount of time you give it for the bleaching, and this really make sure that afterwards you're really giving your hair moisture. But besides that good luck.

wantable September 2015

Wantable this month has not been my favorite, personally. But I did contact them and they answered all of my concerns. I will let you know my personal reviews of these items.

Items in my bag

·         29 Cosmetics The Valley I-Block  worth $38

o   What the company says

§  Long-lasting anti-oxidant enriched I-BLOCK Eye Shadows with grape seed extract        nourish and protect the eyelids from environmental pollutants and the harmful effects of free radicals. This gentle formula helps delicate skin around the eyes to appear smooth and moisturized while visibly easing the signs of aging.

o    My opinion

§  Not super impressive and I had received a green palette which was not to my liking. The packaging was nice but I'm not someone in love with eye shadow. And it reminded me of a Rimmle one  I own

·         Model Co Party Proof Cream Lipstick after Hours $17

o   What the company says

§    For high-impact color that won't budge, ModelCo PARTY PROOF Lipsticks are super long-lasting, strong pigment lipsticks in ultra-vibrant hues. The rich, non-drying formula glides on effortlessly without drying, caking or flaking. Kiss, drink and party proof to last all day and night. Housed in a chic white case and complete with an inbuilt mirror

o   My opinion

§     No. this is in no way "party proof". Within 3 minutes of application my lipstick was everywhere; my chin, my left cheek and smeared under my lips. The color also threw me off. It was a orange color, which I believed went under coral which I disliked on the quiz. But after contacting them they informed me that, that awful shade of orange actually qualified under the red category.

·         Ofra Lip liner Maya $13

o   Company says

§  Water resistant pencil suitable for the most sensitive eye & lip areas. Created with a synthetic beeswax base for a smooth, soft and long lasting application

o   My opinion

§  It was a really nice, it wasn’t too soft but it did have a nice wine red undertone.

·         Beauty for Real Get Glowing Afterglow $29

o   Company says

§  Get Glowing! Cheek Tint and Luminizer features a highlighter, GOLDRUSH, which is a brilliant, light reflecting warm, sheer gold and the cheek tint, AFTERGLOW, brings a flush of bronze that you want to wear all year long.

o   My opinion

§  It’s a pretty color containing a highlight and a bronzy shimmer. It had a weird gel like or cream consistency yet it didn’t blend as seamlessly as expected.

Overall it wasn’t that the selection was bad but the products themselves wasn’t worth their price. For example that lipstick to me was worth 2 dollars max. The eyeshadow quad was for me $10 and th Afterglow was maybe $15 at most.

Benefits of Scrunchies

Over the years, there have been  this negative attitude towards scrunchies. It is deemed as a little girl item , and embarrassing. Set into our last in the 80's and 90's. But here are some interesting things that you might not have considered.
Scrunchies are harder to lose.
Scrunchies are more apparent in a thicker material easily worn. It contains a lot more fabric and is therefore easier to spot. So you won't be purchasing  new hair ties every 2 months.
Scrunchies  are more personal.
They tend to come in different  varieties  and are easy to make. Which is cool if you want to customize  it. And it could be a staple piece of your wardrobe.
They don't mess up your hair answer hair ties can make note in your hair or be very hard to remove. Leaving your hair with dents and breakage. But the softness of your scrunchie provides flexibility and manageability which we are all looking for.
Scrunchies  can be wore was bracelets.
Because they have so much material they can be worn as bracelet  that don't cut off blood circulation. Once again the fabrics and patterns  are all up to you.
These are why I'm saying we need to bring the scrunchies back .

e.l.f. Essential Instant Lift Brow Pencil

This is a $2 product containing a basic brow comb and .06 oz or .18g . It is available in 3 shades Taupe, natural brown and dark brown. The design is very basic it is a white twist out pencil with a comb on the other side. Nothing special.
But the product itself is very good. It does have a thicker tip than the Anastasia Brow Wiz  it is also very creamy product which can be good or bad depending on the amount of brows you have. The one negative for me is how dark it is. I took the color dark brown which is very cool but it is pretty much black. I'm not saying it doesn't match my hair but black can be a little hard to work with.
The positive
It is its easy to travel with, you don't need a lot to fill in gaps. But you should set it with powder.
There are very cool colors. And the price makes it worth a while.
